With the opening of the new Zimbabwe Consulate building and its e-passport center in Johannesburg, the Consulate has informed the public about adjusted passport prices.
What Happened
The Ministry of Home Affairs and Cultural Heritage has instructed that all e-passport applications processed at the Consulate in Johannesburg, South Africa, will now be treated as fast-tracked or urgent applications according to Statutory Instrument 1 of 2024.
Statutory Instrument 1 of 2024 sets the Zimbabwe passport fees at $170 for an ordinary & working day passport and $270 for a 48 Hour passport
This means that the fee for applying for an emergency or urgent passport will be $270, converted to South African Rand (ZAR) at the current exchange rate, starting from Monday, July 29, 2024.
At the current exchange rate it will cost you about R5000 to apply for a Zimbabwe passport in Johannesburg.
